Information/comments: Boy, do I even need to say anything here?  This series is probably the reason most of you are here in the first place.  I guess I'll just give the information that I can.

This is a collaboration between Shouji Sato and Daisuke Sato, who, contrary to popular belief, are not actually brothers and simply share the same last name by coincidence.  The series was on a long hiatus from 2008 to 2010, I believe due to Daisuke Sato's writer's block.  During this time, SS drew a monthly feature for Dragon Age called "SchDead Museum," which every month had a color illustration of a (female) character and information on a piece of equipment from the series.

HOTD came back in a big way in early 2010, with a 12-episode anime series and its popularity quickly exploded.  The series became bimonthly after the hiatus, and now here we are.

An interesting bit of trivia included in a "Making of..." feature said that the series was originally titled "ZOMBIE SCHOOL: KILL! KILL!", most likely a reference to the famous exploitation film, "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"

There have been a LOT of rare promotional items released for the series over the years, from illustration booklets included with certain issues of Dragon Age to send-away extra parts for figures, and I think it would be a futile effort to try to list them all.  Just be aware that there's a lot of stuff out there.
